Charleston, South Carolina is an awesome city with full of history. I was so amazed to explore so many incredible restaurants and bars. One of my travel hubbies is to check out local roof top bars. Check out my other post for roof tops in other countries. I noticed some unique aspects of Charleston rooftop. It has several areas of the city with totally different vibe. The roof top provides that special vibes too: the drink, the people, and the view.

l fell in love with so much about this city and can't wait to show them to you. If you're planning a trip of your own, be sure to check out these beautiful rooftop bars.

Citrus Club

The Dewberry’s rooftop bar/restaurant located on 334 Meeting St offers amazing view for the center city. It is serves to hotel guest mainly but you can also make reservation to visit if you are not a hotel guest. I went there on a Saturday afternoon, so it is little bit busy. After put my name on the waitlist, I took a little walk in the plaza nearby. Five minutes later, I got the text about my seat is ready (guess this is the perk of travel solo). When I first took the elevator up, I was offered to seat near the bar to wait for outside seating ready. I ordered the gorgeous hibiscus mojito.

Open 2-10 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.

The Watch Rooftop Bar

The Watch is at the top of The Restoration Hotel at 79 Wentworth St., hosts tiki Tuesdays, half-price wine on Wednesdays and live music brunch on Sundays. It has one of the best views in all Charleston. I went there on a Friday afternoon and the view was fantastic.

Hotel Vendue

This bar is located on top of the Vendue Hotel. One interesting fact is that this is a two-tiered rooftop experience. I really enjoy the wooden decking design with sun-shaded wicker furniture. The must order drink included margarita comes ‘picante’ and their peach-flavored mule.

Fiat Lux at Hotel Bennett

The bar is located on top of this luxury hotel. My airbnb host recommended here. It provides elegant ambiance that reminiscent of Europe. However I have to say, the actual view is not as advertised. On their website, the view is actually the VIP Club. The church view in front of the hotel was blocked by the center of the building. You will only see the open park area. However I would say the decoration of the roof top is very chic.

Pour Taproom

It is located on 560 King St., where you pay by the ounce for draft beer, cider, and wine. There are about 70 types you can choose from. The bar is located on ninth-floor rooftop that overlooks King Street. The food menu includes bar snacks and tacos. The outdoor table is really high (just to prevent drunken people fall off the roof). I like the feeling of having many choices for tasting. The pay by once gives you the freedom to choose as many as you want.

Open 4-11 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, noon-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday and noon-11 p.m. Sunday. For more info, visit charleston.pourtaproom.com.
